Converting A Scale
To convert one scale to another, simply enter your starting scale into the Input Scale box, and your target scale into the Output Scale box. Then click Calculate. This will give your the conversion factor in percent to convert one scale measurement into another.
Conversion Factor
The conversion factor is displayed as a percentage (%). Use this percentage to multiply any original scale dimensions or as your printer scaling settings if you're resizing a download and print building from Scale Model Scenery to another scale.
Converting Real Measurements To Scale Measurements
If you're just calculating scale measurements rather than converting from one scale to another, just enter the same scale into both the input scale and output scale boxes, e.g. for 1:76 scale, enter 76 in both boxes. Then click Calculate to display your scale measurements. By default Model Scale Converter will show the equivalent of 1", 1', 1cm and 1m as scaled dimensions in millimetres.
So if we enter "76" into both the input and output scale boxes and click calculate it will show us that at 1:76 scale...
- 1" = 0.3mm
- 1' = 4mm
- 1cm = 0.13mm
- 1m = 13.2mm
Converting Scale Measurements To Real Measurements
As well as converting real measurement to scale measurements, Model Scale Converter can also convert a scale measurement into a real, 1:1 measurement.
Enter the scale of the model you're measuring into the Output Scale box (e.g. enter '72' for 1:72 scale) and leave the Input Scale blank.
Next enter the scale measurement taken from the model into the Scale Measurement box in mm. Now click calculate.
Scale Model Converter will now convert your scale measurement in mm into a 1:1 scale prototype measurement.
